Circular Economy

 Assalamualaikum everyone, have you guys heard about circular economy before? because it is my first time heard about it. Generally, circular economy is new way of economic system in eliminating wastes involving many ways such as reuse, sharing, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing and recycling that are contrast of traditional linear economy which is ‘take-make-waste’. 

In circular economy, it can be seen there are many process involved in order to sustain our resources. Linear economy only promotes eco-efficiency on sustainability while circular economy is focusing in eco-effectiveness. However, it was stated that circular economy is established to work within linear economy to minimize the ecological impact as much as we can. In eco-effectiveness, not only ecological impact is minimized, but ecological,  economic and social impact also being preserve much better. 

 

 

 

This is one of the examples of circular economy that use raw materials multiple times before turn it to wastes.

 

The picture above illustrates multiple life cycles in circular economy. To be more understanable, imagine that to be efficiency, we can use the raw materials multiple times for multiple purposes use in that cycles until it can can be defined as wastes which are no use left of it. Therefore, it its important to plan an innovative ways to use raw materials efficiently without implement the ‘take-make-waste’ terms in it.

To conclude, circular economy promotes reduce, reuse and recycle concept through our life. To be more precise, resource is minimized (reduce), reuse of products is maximize (reuse) and high quality of raw materials being produced is (recycle). Therefore, I agree that circular economy able to solve the world’s mounting waste problem.
